More Pictures on Crowning Moment for Mrs. Universe 2013

Lee, 39, secured the coveted crown during the finals on Aug 11 at The Westin Aruba Resort in Palm Beach, the Caribbean.

The news presenter and former talk show host beat 32 contestants worldwide to clinch the title, along with the Mrs Popularity subsidiary title.
Lee garnered 88,649 votes in the online fan votes contest, narrowly beating Mrs USA Amanda Grad who scored 88,556 votes.
She spent 10 months preparing, both physically and mentally, for the competition. The theme and initiative for this year’s pageant was ‘Stop Domestic Violence’, which fit into Lee’s championing of nationwide campaigns to assist non-governmental organisations in the fight against domestic violence against women.

Besides being an avid public speaker and emcee, Lee also runs Starz Studio, a child development and learning centre for the young.
At the pageant, Lee wore clothes by Malaysian designer Carven Ong, the Asian Top Designer of the Year in 2009.
One of Ong’s notable creations was the national attire Lee paraded at the pageant, which featured a large hibiscus over one shoulder.

Mrs. Malaysia Universe 2013, Carol Lee arrived in Oranjestad, Aruba at Southern Caribbean Sea, located 27 km north of the coast of Venezuela.  on 3rd August together with 40 ladies from around the world. All week long they will participate in the activicties in Aruba like visiting history place, Cruise and many more.


The island of Aruba is proud to be host of this year’s Mrs. Universe event, being conducted at the Westin Aruba Resort in Palm Beach on 11th August 2013. Thirty of the 32 candidates have arrived from all corners of the globe, including Mrs. India, Mrs. China, Mrs. Pakistan and Mrs. Malaysia, to name just a few of distant entries.
On Sunday, 11th August 2013, the current Mrs. Universe Aruba’s Ysaura Wong, will turn over her crown to the women who has demonstrated not only the poise, beauty and maturity that is criteria for being Mrs. Universe, but the community spirit and development of character that are key points in the judges’ final decision.

Organizer of the event, Megi Savova, Sava Tzekov, Mariana Marinova and Ioan Karamfilov were welcomed at Garage Central, agents for Hyundai, a principal sponsor of the event, for a meet and greed 5th August.
They express their enormous satisfaction with reigning Mrs. Universe Ysaura Wong, for her exceptional efforts in enabling this years’s event to take place on Aruba. Mr. Karamfilov expressed, on behalf of all the organizers, who are from Bulgaria, their delight in the Aruba and all the services the offers, as a host venue for the pageant.

An important point for the organizers is that the Mrs. Universe event is not thought of as a pageant, but more of a forum for women from around the world to exchange ideas and cultural information. Since its inception, Mrs. Universe has stood for the appreciation and proper treatment of women of all ages, and has made the battle of violence, particularly against women, their motto and purpose. This year’s theme is “Stop Domestic Violence,” last year it was “Say No to Violence.”


The world Final of Mrs. Universe will be held on 11th August.

Clarissa Chong from Kuala Lumpur win Miss Malaysia Globe 2013

THE 3RD MISS GLOBAL INTERNATIONAL MALAYSIA BEAUTY PAGEANT WAS A GREAT SUCCESS AND HELD AT EASTWOOD VALLEY GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB.

Organised by Merveilleux Production under licence from ERM Marketing Sdn. Bhd., the winner Charissa Chong, 19, will represent Malaysia at the world finals in Albania in November 2013.

The event was held over 19 days in Miri and Miss Global International Malaysia is the first and only international pageant held in Sarawak and indeed Borneo. Usually the finalists fly into Kuala Lumpur for the grand finals but for once, everyone apart from local Mirians, had to fly into Miri, the second city in Sarawak.

“The aim of holding Miss Global International Malaysia in Miri is to promote my beloved home town in particular and Sarawak in general,” beamed the indefatigable and competent Marlene Lim who had organised the same contest for the past 2 years and 2013 was her third. She has grown from strength to strength as proclaimed by Sean Chia See Chun, GM of ERM (Exclusive Resources Marketing) which holds the Malaysian franchise but sublets Merveilleux Production to organise the contest.

Congratulations and kudos to Marlene Lim and her team for putting up an excellent show despite having no financial support from the authorities. Perhaps next year Miri City should consider sponsoring MGIM since it is such a worthy effort and highly effective in promoting tourism.

Miss Malaysia Global International 2013 finalists’ arrival in Miri marks start of pageant

MIRI: The search for the third Miss Global International Malaysia (MGIM) 2013 has begun with all 18 finalists arriving in Miri yesterday.
The first two challenges for the beauties yesterday were the quests for the subsidiary titles Miss Photogenic and Miss Personality, the results of which will be announced during the Grand Final on July 27, at the Eastwood Valley Golf and Country Club.
“The cameras started clicking as they stepped out of the arrival hall and they should know the heat is on for them to step up their game, be the best and eventually inch closer to grab the prestigious title of Miss Global International Malaysia 2013,” said organising chairperson Marlene Lim.

The finalists included three from Sarawak – Julies Lucas from Miri, Livonia Guing (Kuching) and Valenice Tiong Sie Yiin (Limbang); Kuala Lumpur – Amanda Soo Swee Jing, Charissa Chong So Huey and Julie Tan; Kota Kinabalu – Cheryl Joanne Chan Fan Nyuk, Dewina Petrus and Nancy Marcus.
From Selangor are Elvina Chua Tai Sze, Kueh Yong Jun and Sharon Kow Suef Lun; Johor – Eva Yap Yie Huan and Gwendeline Loh Sze Hui; Melaka – Quek Choon Chin and Shanel Chee Ying Ying; Perak – Selena Fong Mi Yen and Penang – Imelda Murugan.
Apart from the top three titles, other subsidiary titles to be won are Miss Crowning Glory, Miss Magic Beauty, Miss Charity, Miss JD’s Personality, Miss Eastwood Popularity, Miss Perfect Body and Miss Elegant.
Lim said during their 10-day stay in Miri, the participants will take part in various activities including environmental preservation, cultural awareness through visits to longhouse and dance workshop, as well as charitable activities.

She called for strong support towards the event, assuring that part of the profit raised from the pageant will be for charity.
Among its other main objectives were to train potential beauty queens to be ambassadors for Miri and Malaysia and to celebrate women for their uniqueness, generosity and achievements.

The finalists will participate in the pageant for a week and the winner get to represent Malaysia at Miss Globe International 2013 world Final in Albania in November.

Local lass named ‘Miss Media Gorgeous’ during Miss Malaysia Earth 2013 Press Conference

IPOH: TWENTY THREE beauties will  be vying for the title of Miss Malaysia  Earth 2013 on 21st July at MH Hotels Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. next Sunday.
The event, organised for the forth time in the state, will be held at MH Hotel at 7.30pm.
The night will showcase contestants parading in recycled attires, followed  by swim wear and evening gowns.
Local lass Charmaine Loh has won the Miss Media Gorgeous subsidiary title in the Miss Malaysia Earth 2013 beauty pageant competition, held here during the Press conference recently on 11th July.

Loh, 18, a pre-university student at Taylor’s College, walked away with a trophy and sponsored gifts.
She was selected from among the 23 finalists by media members during a preview show of Miss Malaysia Earth 2013, held at MH Hotel Ipoh.
“My reason for joining this pageant is to help promote the preservation of the environment,” she said.
The crowning of Miss Malaysia Earth 2013, on July 21, will also be held at MH Hotel Ipoh.
